Description
The Elder in the Market
Photographed 24.11.2024.
In the bustling markets of Amman, an elderly man with a partially paralyzed face—likely the result of a stroke—sells his wares with quiet determination. A cigarette dangles from his mouth, and his traditional hat, adorned with mosque motifs, symbolizes a life deeply connected to the region’s culture. His unwavering gaze embodies decades of endurance, mirroring the resilience of a nation navigating its own struggles while hosting millions of refugees.
80% of all earnings from this print will directly fund my next photography trip to Jordan/Amman.
The remaining 20% (or more) will be used to support charitable causes in Jordan and other regions in need.
During my last visit, for example, we met a family with six children that asked us for help replacing their damaged tent — this is something I would like to achive.
